Edition 2025 — Living Via Crucis Martano
The 41st edition of the Solemn Living Via Crucis took place on Holy Wednesday, April 16, 2025, starting at 7:30 PM. Under the spiritual guidance of the parish priest Father Donato Manca and the artistic direction of director Totino Stella, about 200 participants in period costumes re-enacted the final moments of Jesus' earthly life along the historic center of Martano.
The representation, recognized as one of the most beautiful and evocative that characterize the life of Salento communities during this period, retraced the scenes of the Passion from the Last Supper to the Crucifixion, concluding at the Calvary set up near the municipal cemetery. Organized by the Maria SS. del Rosario Parish, the 2025 edition confirmed the strong bond of the Martano community with this Holy Week tradition.

Evening program
- 7:30 PM — Departure from the Maria SS. del Rosario Parish halls
- Itinerant route along the streets of the historic center with the scenes of the Passion: Last Supper, Gethsemane, judgment of the Sanhedrin, condemnation by Pilate, ascent to Calvary
- Conclusion at the Calvary, near the municipal cemetery, with the Crucifixion
