Solemn Celebrations in honor of Maria SS. di Belvedere and the Battitura della 'Nzegna

The 2025 edition confirmed Carovigno as the guardian of one of the most evocative Easter traditions in the Salento region. The calendar opened on April 18 with the procession of the Mysteries from the Church of the Carmine, then entered its peak after the blessing of the flags and the 'battitori' on April 20. The town experienced its highlights during the days of the Angel, with the 'battiture' of the 'nzegna in the square, city processions, civil ceremonies, and fireworks that illuminated the historic center. The festival concluded on Saturday, April 26, with the final 'battitura' at the Sanctuary of Belvedere, characterized by tradition, culture, and hospitality, featuring over three hundred costumed participants and local flag-waving groups.
