The twentieth anniversary edition

The twentieth edition of the Sole Luna Doc Film Festival was held in Palermo from September 15 to 21, 2025, celebrating twenty years of the event. Screenings took place in the open-air spaces of the GAM - Gallery of Modern Art (Sant'Anna cloister and Bonet courtyard), in the Sala dei 99 of Palazzo Branciforte, and in the Church of Santi Euno e Giuliano.

The program featured over 50 screenings and 18 films in competition, along with concerts and special events. The guest of honor was the Spanish director and visual artist Isaki Lacuesta, who inaugurated the festival with the video installation La Veu Latent, presented for the first time in Italy.

The award for best film went to Marching in the Dark by Kinshuk Surjan, while the Sole Luna - A Bridge Between Cultures Prize was awarded to Il Castello indistruttibile.
