Smash for Hope

The first edition of Smash for Hope, held on June 7 and 8, 2025, marked the birth of the first national beach volleyball tournament for young people who have faced an oncological journey. On the beach of Bagno Andrea Doria, in Torre del Lago Puccini (Viareggio), teams formed by young patients from AIEOP pediatric oncohematology centers in Pisa, Turin, Genoa, Milan, Perugia, Bologna, Padua, Monza, Modena, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Aviano–Udine–Trieste) competed, accompanied by their respective parents' associations. Promoted by AGBALT ODV and the Pediatric Oncohematology department of Pisa as part of the "Sport and Health Project," the tournament was immediately a tool for rebirth and sharing, carrying a message of strength and hope.
