About Silentium
A Journey into Silence
In Rovato, a town in Franciacorta in the province of Brescia, Silentium – Paths of Light in Silence offers a three-day experience dedicated to inner well-being, spirituality, and rediscovering silence as a tool for balance. Organized by the Lux Vivens Association with artistic direction by Patrizia Maranesi, the event takes place at Casa Lux and on the nearby Monte Orfano.
In the Footsteps of Hildegard of Bingen
The common thread of the entire journey is the thought of Hildegard of Bingen, the great mystic, musician, and healer of the 12th century. Sessions of philosophy and natural medicine, medieval music, and the deep relationship between sound, body, and nature that runs through the entire event are inspired by her.
Meditation, Sound, and Nature
Silentium combines different disciplines and languages: meditation on silence, breathing techniques, free singing, medieval music, sound baths with gongs and bells, mime theatre, poetry, and expressive voice. Particularly evocative moments include the Silent Dinner, where food becomes meditation, and forest bathing amidst the woods of Monte Orfano. The journey concludes with a concert of ancient chants of great emotional intensity.
An Oasis of Well-being in Franciacorta
In a land known primarily for its wine and vibrancy, Rovato and the Municipality open a space for slowness and listening with Silentium. The event offers the Province of Brescia an appointment dedicated to self-care, where the nature of Monte Orfano and spirituality merge in a path designed to rediscover one's inner light.
Silentium — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Silentium takes place in Rovato from May 1st to 3rd, at Casa Lux and on Monte Orfano. Three days dedicated to rediscovering silence as a tool for well-being, knowledge, and regeneration, with artistic direction by Patrizia Maranesi and organization by the Lux Vivens Association. The program combines meditation, breathing, music, singing, poetry, and contact with nature, always under the inspiration of Hildegard of Bingen.

Friday, May 1st — Listening and Awareness
- Meditation on silence and breathing techniques
- Free singing and medieval music
- Afternoon: Philosophy and natural medicine inspired by Hildegard of Bingen
- Evening: Silent Dinner, a convivial moment in total silence where food becomes meditation
Saturday, May 2nd — Sounds and Expressive Arts
- Sound baths with gongs and bells
- Mime theatre, poetry, and expressive voice
- Closing with the Quiet Party, a "silence party" made of gestures, glances, and wordless perceptions
Sunday, May 3rd — Nature on Monte Orfano
- Forest bathing trail through the woods of Monte Orfano
- Spiritual celebration
- Concluding concert of ancient chants, of great emotional intensity
