Edition 2025 — Silent Cinema & Live Music
The seventh edition of Silent Cinema & Live Music took place in Rutigliano from July 8 to 18, 2025, in the cloister of Palazzo San Domenico. Four Italian silent films from the 1910s and 1920s were accompanied live by four different musical ensembles, ranging from jazz to Arbëresh folk and the baroque repertoire. Screenings were held at 9:00 PM, with free admission.
2025 Edition
The seventh edition of Silent Cinema & Live Music was held from July 8 to 18, 2025 in the cloister of Palazzo San Domenico in Rutigliano, under the artistic direction of Franco Larizza and organized by the Municipality of Rutigliano in collaboration with the Agìmus Association. Four evenings, four silent films, and four live concerts:
- July 8 — Addio Giovinezza (1918, by Augusto Genina) with the Michele Carrabba Quartet playing music by John Coltrane
- July 11 — Frate Sole (1918) with Skanderband and traditional Arbëresh music
- July 15 — Rotaie (1929, by Mario Camerini) with the Klaviol Trio (Poulenc, Rota, Shostakovich, Piazzolla)
- July 18 — 'A Santanotte (1922, by Elvira Notari) with the Ensemble Quatrelier and a 17th-18th century repertoire
In 2025, admission was also free for all screenings.
