Traditional dances and music from around the world in the squares of Treviso
The Sile Folk Festival is the International Folklore Festival that, every July, transforms Treviso โ the "little Venice" crossed by the Sile river โ into a stage for traditional dances, music, and costumes from different continents. The event is recognized by CIOFF (Conseil International des Organisations de Festivals de Folklore), the international reference body for folklore festivals.
The heart of the festival are the evening performances that liven up the squares of Treviso's historic center: each group presents traditional dance and music performances, with the main evening on Saturday in the city's central square. The performances, short and intense, follow one another, offering the public a true tour of the world through dances, songs, and typical costumes.
In addition to the performances, the festival is an opportunity for cultural exchange among the guest groups, who stay in the city and participate in tours in the Veneto region, including a boat excursion to Venice. The direction is entrusted to Gianni Marini.
Part of the CIOFF Italia circuit, the Sile Folk Festival involves groups of adults and children and represents a moment of openness to the world for the province of Treviso, with free-access performances that attract families and fans of popular traditions.
The 2026 edition of the Sile Folk Festival is scheduled in Treviso from July 9 to 16, with the arrival of international groups on July 9 and departure on July 16.
Throughout the week, the squares of the historic center host evening performances of traditional dance and music, with the main evening on Saturday in Treviso's central square. Activities include a boat excursion to Venice for guest groups and tours in the Veneto region. The detailed list of participating groups and schedules will be communicated by the CIOFF organization in the weeks prior.
