Edition 2025 — FOSS Summer Festival

The 2025 Summer Festival of the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra took place from June 21 to October 4, 2025, with twelve symphonic productions in fourteen locations, between Palermo and thirteen towns on the island. An open-air season that wove together classical repertoire, dance, operetta, and influences from popular music around the world, confirming the festival's popular vocation.

Summer Festival 2025

The 2025 summer season officially started on June 21 and 22 in Capo d'Orlando and Palermo (Piazza Ruggero Settimo) with a program inspired by Spain, entrusted to conductor Alevtina Ioffe and guitarist Pablo Sáinz-Villegas. Designed for open-air spaces and diverse audiences, the festival alternated classical, dance, operetta, and non-Italian popular repertoires.

In closing, on October 3 and 4 in Palermo and Caltanissetta, John Axelrod led the Sicilian Symphony in a program of American music, featuring Copland's Appalachian Spring, Gershwin's Symphonic Picture from Porgy and Bess, and Charles Ives's Second Symphony. The concerts in Palermo (Piazza Ruggero Settimo) cost €10 full and €5 reduced.
