Edition 2025 — Puppet Opera Alcamo
The 2025 edition at the Castello dei Conti di Modica
The 2025 edition of the Sicilian Puppet Opera festival enlivened the Castello dei Conti di Modica in Alcamo, in the province of Trapani, with a series of evening performances at 6:00 PM curated by the Gaspare Canino Cultural Association. On stage, master puppeteer Salvatore Oliveri was joined by storyteller Salvatore Fundarò.
The festival kicked off on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, with "Ruggero di Risa," followed by events on August 20, 27, and September 3, 2025. Among the most applauded titles, "Lady Rovenza" was performed on August 27, telling the story of the Queen of Soria who fights with a heavy steel hammer and enchanted armor, leading up to the final duel with the paladin Rinaldo. Admission was free.
