Sicilian Identity Festival

Before arriving in Leonforte, the Sicilian Identity Festival stopped in Camastra, in the province of Agrigento, on July 19 and 20, 2025. The event, promoted by the Siciliani Liberi movement together with the Municipality and the Scuolamania association, opened in the Council Chamber with greetings from Mayor Dario Gaglio. The two days alternated between conferences and performances: discussions were held on the vitality of the Sicilian language with professors from the Universities of Catania and Palermo and the Academy of the Sicilian Language, the future of small villages, and the bond between land and identity. The evenings, in Piazza Garibaldi, combined music, poetry, and tradition with artists such as Karim Porrello, the Oxenne Villafranca ensemble, the Valentina dance school, and the Sciara group.
