SiciliAmbiente 2025 — 17th Edition

The seventeenth edition of the SiciliAmbiente Film Festival was held in San Vito Lo Capo from July 14 to 19, 2025, featuring over fifty films from about thirty countries. In the Documentary Competition, Una canción para mi tierra by Mauricio Albornoz Iniesta triumphed, successfully portraying the poison of pesticides through the voices of a community and the hope entrusted to children's music; the same film also won the Amnesty International Human Rights Award.

The AAMOD Award went to Breath by Ilaria Congiu for her skillful use of archival material; in the Animation Competition, Flastastic by Alice Saey prevailed, while the Greenpeace Award was given to Shhili by Habib Ayeb for its testimony on the impacts of the climate crisis on agriculture. The festival confirmed its role as a reference point for environmental and civil cinema in Sicily.
