Short Theatre 2025 - 20th edition

The 20th edition of Short Theatre took place in Rome from September 5 to 14, 2025, celebrating twenty years of the international festival dedicated to contemporary creation and the performing arts. The program brought together over 70 events with more than 35 companies, artistic projects, and figures, mapping the lesser-known geographies of the Global South and East with artists from Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, the Philippines, Iran, Lebanon, Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

The core of the festival remained anchored in the spaces of the Mattatoio in Testaccio, particularly the Pelanda pavilion, with the opening of a new three-year trajectory towards exceptional spaces such as the Palazzo dei Congressi and Teatro Vittoria, and the return to Teatro India, the place where the festival was born. The edition was led by the curatorial group composed of Silvia Bottiroli, Silvia Calderoni, Ilenia Caleo, and Michele Di Stefano.
