Sherocco Festival

The fourth edition of the Sherocco Festival animated Ostuni from June 26 to 29, 2025, among the olive trees and ruins of the Santa Maria di Agnano Archaeological Park. A rich program — talks, shows, workshops, concerts, and exhibitions — built a multidisciplinary path centered on LGBTQIA+ identities and their artistic expressions, with a declared queer, transfeminist, and pop soul and a strong claim to its southern roots.

The musical highlight was the concert by BigMama on Saturday, June 28th, at 10:30 PM: a queer icon who established herself on the Sanremo stage, the artist brought one of the festival's most anticipated live shows to Ostuni. The cultural backbone was provided by the Sherocco Academy, the summer school on gender studies coordinated by Francesca Romana Recchia Luciani and Sara Garbagnoli.
