Edition 2025 — Shepherds' Festival

The 2025 edition of the Shepherds' Festival at Lame di Capraia was held on the last Sunday of July, faithful to the Garfagnana transhumance tradition. On the San Pellegrino in Alpe plateau, the usual rites were renewed: outdoor mass, a communal lunch with mountain flavors, and an afternoon of games and neccio fritters.

The 2025 Shepherds' Festival at Lame di Capraia, in Pieve Fosciana, took place on the last Sunday of July on the plateau near San Pellegrino in Alpe. As per tradition, the day organized by the Pro Loco of Capraia brought together visitors and hikers for Holy Mass outdoors, food stalls with polenta incaciata, lamb, spelt, and local cheeses, and an afternoon of games on the meadow.

Closing the festival, as every year, were the neccio fritters with ricotta, the sweet symbol of the Garfagnana, in an atmosphere that celebrated the rhythms and flavors of the pastoral world of the past.
