Edition 2025 — Sfrappola Festival

The 2025 edition of the Sfrappola Festival was held on May 1st in Riola di Vergato (BO), continuing the tradition that has been renewed every May 1st since 1955. In this edition too, the village in the Bologna Apennines celebrated the sfrappola, a typical fried sweet, with the Count's Tavern, food stalls, a market, and the characteristic historical procession in medieval costume dedicated to the legend of Count Sfrappola.

2025 Edition

On May 1st, 2025, Riola, a hamlet of Vergato, renewed the Sfrappola Festival, organized by the Pro Loco of Riola. The star was the sfrappola, enjoyed at the Count's Tavern and at stalls along the village streets, along with the market.

In the afternoon, the traditional historical procession in medieval costume brought the legend of Count Sfrappola back to life, descending from the Rocchetta Mattei, while the evening concluded with music and fireworks, confirming the event as one of the most cherished festivals in the Vergato area of Emilia-Romagna.
