SFestival 2025 – «Games of (Im)possible Worlds»
The second edition of the Rome science fiction festival was held from November 14 to 16, 2025, spread across three locations in Rome's Appio-Tuscolano quadrant. On Friday, at the Villa Lazzaroni Theatre, the proceedings opened with a meeting on science fiction for young readers, the presentation of the «Visions of the Future» competition, and a musical aperitif featuring a live instrumental synth set accompanied by vintage cosmic projections.
Saturday, the busiest day, featured panels on feminist science fiction, a tribute to Ursula K. Le Guin, a look at Latin American authors of the genre, the screening of a science fiction cinema classic, and discussions on anthologies, satire, and series. Sunday concluded with meetings dedicated to sci-fi horror and transmedia storytelling, from book to film to series. Admission was free, in the Municipality of Rome and the Lazio Region.
