September in Santa Chiara – Historical Conversations Circle

The 24th edition of «September in Santa Chiara» enlivened the four Thursdays of September 2025 in the Cloister of the Clarisse, in Noci, in the Province of Bari. The meetings, all at 6:45 PM and free to attend, were coordinated by Giuseppe Basile, director of the Municipal Library, in collaboration with IPSAIC, the Umanesimo della Pietra Group, and local parishes and associations.

The program spanned different eras and disciplines: the reconstruction of city events between the 15th and 19th centuries, 18th-century Pugliese sacred art with the San Rocco of Noci, 20th-century historiography, and finally the history of local education, confirming the event's vocation to tell the city's identity through the eyes of scholars and researchers.

September 4 — «Noci. Historical pages from the 15th to the 19th century»

Speaker Pasquale Gentile, local historian and winner of the 16th edition of the Premio Noci. Introduction by Mayor Francesco Intini.

September 11 — «Models of 18th-century wood sculpture in Puglia: the San Rocco of Noci»

Speaker Isabella Di Liddo, professor at the University of Bari. Introduction by Archpriest Don Stefano Mazzarisi.

September 18 — «20th-century Noci in the historical commitment of Giulio Esposito (1959-2015)»

Speakers Anna Gervasio, director of IPSAIC, and Vito Antonio Leuzzi, president of IPSAIC. Introduction by Councilor Marta Jerovante.

September 25 — «Schooling in Noci»

Speaker Giuseppe D'Elia, former school principal. Introduction by Councilor Francesca Tinella.
