Sempre Più Fuori is a multidisciplinary festival that explores contemporary practices and their languages every summer, connecting theatre, music, dance, cinema, literature, performance, and photography into a shared field of experience. The event takes place in Rome, in the Lazio region, and is promoted by Roma Capitale - Department of Culture, winner of the Roma Creativa 365 Public Notice, in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura and curated by Giant.
A temporary geography across unconventional spaces
The festival does not have a single stage: every year, it constructs a temporary geography made of various spaces in the Capital. The main hubs are the German Academy Rome Villa Massimo and the Goethe-Institut Rom, joined by urban sites rich in meaning such as the Verano Monumental Cemetery and Spazio Rossellini in the 8th Municipality. It is precisely in this relationship between art and place that the festival finds its identity: Rome becomes a living organism, traversed by bodies, sounds, and visions.
A widespread and transdisciplinary program
The programming combines theatrical performances, contemporary dance choreography, site-specific performances, concerts, electronic music DJ sets, film screenings, literary meetings, performance poetry, dinner-shows, and a photography exhibition. Completing the experience is a workshop dedicated to actors and actresses, as well as the Cantina di Dante, a refreshment point featuring reinterpretations of Roman cuisine.
Great names of the Italian and international scene
Throughout its editions, Sempre Più Fuori has brought protagonists of the contemporary scene to Rome, such as Emma Dante, the Motus company, Enzo Cosimi, Silvia Calderoni, and Mariangela Gualtieri. The festival engages in a dialogue with the German cultural institutions present in the city, building a bridge between Italian and European artistic research.
A summer appointment for the Capital
With its itinerant format and open gaze on the present, Sempre Più Fuori has become one of the most anticipated events of the Roman summer for those who love experimental theatre, auteur dance, and hybrid languages. An invitation to experience Rome in a different way, following evening performances in the gardens of Villa Massimo or the unexpected spaces of the Verano.

Sempre Più Fuori 2026, the 6th edition
The sixth edition of the festival brought Rome to life from July 6 to 17, 2026, under the artistic direction of Antonino Pirillo and Giorgio Andriani. A transdisciplinary program that connected theatre, dance, performance art, live music, DJ sets, cinema, poetry, and photography across four main venues in the Capital.
The opening, on July 6 at Villa Massimo, was entrusted to I Fantasmi di Basile by Emma Dante, Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, while the closing on July 17 featured the DJ set I'm not a DJ by Silvia Calderoni. Among the most anticipated events were the performance VVA - Venere Incontra Adone by Enzo Cosimi, the concert Ruvido umano by Mariangela Gualtieri, and works by the Motus company, also celebrated with a photography exhibition for their 35th anniversary.

How to get there
The main venues are located in the 2nd Municipality of Rome, in the Nomentano-Verano area. The German Academy Villa Massimo (Largo di Villa Massimo 1-2) and the Verano Monumental Cemetery can be reached by Metro Line B (Policlinico stop) and numerous trams and buses. Spazio Rossellini is located in the 8th Municipality, at Via della Vasca Navale 58.
Tickets
Tickets can be purchased online via Vivaticket and at Vivaticket sales points. The on-site box office opens two hours before the showtime. The photography exhibition at the Goethe-Institut Rom has free admission.
