Selvaticamente – Identità Basaltiche

Volcanic wines and trekking through the basalt hills

Selvaticamente is the new wine-tourism event by the Associazione Identità Basaltiche (Basaltic Identity Association), dedicated to wines born on the basaltic volcanic soils of Montebello Vicentino (Vicenza) and nearby Gambellara. These are territories internationally recognized for their unique geology, which gives the wines distinctive minerality and character.

How the day works

Participants explore the hills on foot or by bicycle along an itinerary through the vines. Ten wineries from the area open their doors for tastings, connected by a free shuttle service. Each participant receives an Explorer Kit with a paper map, a card for ten tasting glasses, and an official cap.

The aperitivo in the piazza

After the hours in the vineyard, the day concludes with a grand aperitivo in the Piazza in Selva di Montebello, accompanied by music and a DJ set. It's a convivial moment that brings together walkers, cyclists, and wine lovers at sunset.
