Edition 2025 — Segavecchia

The 2025 edition of the Festa della Segavecchia renewed in Cotignola, in the province of Ravenna, the long tradition of the oldest historical carnival in the Bassa Romagna, with four days of costume parades, dancing, entertainment for children, musical performances, Romagna food stands, and the usual burning of the Old Woman in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, the ritual that closes the festival.

The Festa della Segavecchia 2025 confirmed in Cotignola the vitality of a carnival tradition celebrated without interruption for over five centuries and recognized among the historical carnivals of Emilia-Romagna.

In the 2025 edition too, the program was spread over several days, with two carnival parades, entertainment for children, musical performances, and food stands by the Pro Loco of Cotignola. The festival concluded, as tradition dictates, with the burning of the Old Woman in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, a symbolic ritual of the victory of spring over winter.
