About Sedico Carnival
The Carnival of Valbelluna
In Sedico, in the province of Belluno, Carnival is a long-standing tradition that involves the entire community. For more than two weeks, between late January and mid-February, the town's streets come alive with paper-mâché floats, masks, and music, in a festive atmosphere that draws spectators from all over Valbelluna.
Two Grand Masked Parades
The highlight of the event is the two Sunday parades of the floats, which wind through the town accompanied by the Municipal Musical Band in costume and entertainment for the little ones. Floats from all over the province participate in the second parade, in a competition that rewards the imagination and skill of paper-mâché artisans.
Exhibitions, Schools, and Shows
Alongside the parades, the Sedico Carnival features the «Carnevalarte» exhibition with works from the town's schools, a parade for the youngest children, fireworks displays, and creative workshops. The traditional Carnival lottery, with rich prizes, is also a must. The event is organized by the Sedico Carnival Social Promotion Association.

Experiencing the Sedico Carnival also means discovering an authentic corner of the province of Belluno, at the gateway to the Belluno Dolomites, where popular festivities retain a genuine and familiar flavor.
Sedico Carnival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Sedico Carnival unfolded from January 31st to February 17th. Among the events were the inauguration of the fourth edition of the «Carnevalarte» exhibition at the Nuovo Polo Culturale, dedicated to the Olympic theme, the two float parades, and the grand finale on Fat Tuesday with workshops for children. The event, organized by the Sedico Carnival Social Promotion Association, animated the center of the town in the province of Belluno for over two weeks.

Saturday, February 7th — Nuovo Polo Culturale
- 6:30 PM — Inauguration of the «Carnevalarte» exhibition (4th edition, Olympic theme) with works from the schools of the Municipality of Sedico
Sunday, February 8th — town center streets
- 3:00 PM — First grand masked parade with floats, accompanied by the Municipal Musical Band in costume and children's entertainment with the duo Cirillo and Bò
Saturday, February 14th
- Afternoon dedicated to children: school parade and participation of the Heroebus, the superheroes' bus
- Concluding with a fireworks display by Pirotecnica Papa
Sunday, February 15th — town center streets
- Second grand masked parade with floats from all over the province of Belluno and a gathering of Ape50s from the group «Scarburati in zona»
Tuesday, February 17th
- Creative workshops for children to close the event
Throughout the Carnival, a lottery is active with a travel voucher worth €1,000 as the first prize.

How to get here
Sedico is located in Valbelluna, a few kilometers from Belluno. It can be reached by car via the SS50 del Grappa and Passo Rolle; the nearest train station is Sedico-Bribano on the Belluno-Padova line.
Admission
The parades and events in the town center are free to enter. Tickets are available for the lottery.
