Sea Procession of the Madonna Assunta (Ferragosto)

The 2025 edition of the Feast of the Assumption in Silvi Marina, in the province of Teramo, confirmed the ritual handed down since 1975. On August 15th, in the early hours of the morning, the statue of the Madonna went out in a procession from the parish church towards Piazza dei Pini, accompanied by the faithful, civil and military authorities, and a marching band. This was followed by the boarding for the evocative sea procession along the coast, towards the mouth of the Piomba river, and the solemn open-air Mass in Piazza dei Pini.

On the evenings of August 13, 14, and 15, the square hosted musical entertainment for the civil festivities, while on the night of August 15th, the midnight fireworks display over the sea closed the festival, drawing residents and tourists to the seafront and the viewpoint of Silvi Paese.
