Sea Festival and StoccoFest 2025
The 2025 edition of the Sea Festival and StoccoFest was held in Spadafora (Messina) from July 23 to 27, with continuous hours from 11:00 AM to midnight along Via Marina, in the heart of the seaside village, and an additional grand finale on August 19. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Spadafora, led by President Benedetto La Macchia with the support of the Municipality, featured five days dedicated to the sea and maritime culture.
The star was StoccoFest, with the 'ghiotta' stockfish competition and a comparison between great Italian gastronomic traditions: from Mammola stockfish to Vicenza-style salt cod, and reinterpretations by local chefs. There were also cooking shows, tastings, creative markets, workshops on maritime trades, and musical and folk performances. An art exhibition inspired by the theme of water was set up at the Castle of Spadafora, confirming the festival's cultural vocation.
