Edition 2025 — Scriptopìa

The first edition of Scriptopìa took place in Messina from October 1 to 4, 2025, launching Italy's first festival dedicated to film and TV writing. Four days featured morning masterclasses at the University of Messina and evening screenings at the Church of Santa Maria Alemanna, with acclaimed screenwriters like Davide Serino and Anna Mittone. The grand finale featured the silent film "Torquato Tasso" with a live score by Giovanni Renzo.

Scriptopìa 2025 – The inaugural edition

From October 1 to 4, 2025, Messina hosted the first edition of Scriptopìa. Mornings were dedicated to meetings and lectures with Italian screenwriters at the COSPECS and SCIPOG departments of the University of Messina; evenings were dedicated to screenings at the Church of Santa Maria Alemanna.

Guests included: Davide Serino ("M – Son of the Century", "Exterior Night"), Anna Mittone ("Un medico in famiglia", "Un posto al sole"), Marco Borromei ("Small Body"), director Enrico Audenino, Loris Lai, and scholar Francesca Cantore. The scientific committee was chaired by Professor Federico Vitella.

The festival concluded with a screening of the silent film "Torquato Tasso" accompanied by live performances by Giovanni Renzo. Admission was free, and the participation of students and enthusiasts confirmed the event's objectives.

Programme

Festival Structure (October 1–4, 2025)
