Scriptopìa 2025 – The inaugural edition

From October 1 to 4, 2025, Messina hosted the first edition of Scriptopìa. Mornings were dedicated to meetings and lectures with Italian screenwriters at the COSPECS and SCIPOG departments of the University of Messina; evenings were dedicated to screenings at the Church of Santa Maria Alemanna.

Guests included: Davide Serino ("M – Son of the Century", "Exterior Night"), Anna Mittone ("Un medico in famiglia", "Un posto al sole"), Marco Borromei ("Small Body"), director Enrico Audenino, Loris Lai, and scholar Francesca Cantore. The scientific committee was chaired by Professor Federico Vitella.

The festival concluded with a screening of the silent film "Torquato Tasso" accompanied by live performances by Giovanni Renzo. Admission was free, and the participation of students and enthusiasts confirmed the event's objectives.

Festival Structure (October 1–4, 2025)

• Morning — Masterclasses and meetings with Italian screenwriters at the COSPECS and SCIPOG departments of the University of Messina.
• Evening — Screenings at the Church of Santa Maria Alemanna, including the films "Anna", "Small Body", and "The Forbidden City".
• Closing Night — Screening of the silent film "Torquato Tasso" with live music by Giovanni Renzo.
