Before the festival: the memory of Sant'Anna in 2025
The Children's and Young Adult Book Festival "Scintille di memoria" debuted in 2026 and therefore did not take place in 2025. Nevertheless, in 2025, Sant'Anna di Stazzema, a village in the municipality of Stazzema in the province of Lucca, maintained its role as a symbolic site of European memory.
On the occasion of April 25th, Liberation Day, the village hosted official commemorations at the Monumental Ossuary, with the participation of institutions, associations, and citizens. It was within this context of civic commitment that the Parco Nazionale della Pace, together with the Tuscany Region, developed the idea for the new literary festival dedicated to younger generations, which was inaugurated the following year.
