Edition 2025 — Schofschoad Trafoi

The 2025 edition of the Schofschoad took place on Sunday, September 21, in Trafoi am Ortler, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The sheep, having descended from the high-altitude pastures of the Stelvio National Park, were gathered, separated, and returned to their respective farmers during a day of celebration featuring folk music and traditional South Tyrolean culinary specialties.

Schofschoad Trafoi 2025

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Trafoi am Ortler celebrated the Schofschoad, the traditional sheep transhumance. After a summer spent on the high-altitude alpine pastures of the Stelvio National Park, the flocks were brought back to the valley and separated to be returned to their individual owners.

The day, held in the Municipality of Stilfs (Vinschgau Valley, South Tyrol), brought the entire community together in a festive village atmosphere, with folk music, local products, and traditional South Tyrolean farming cuisine, all at the foot of the imposing Ortler peaks.
