Edition 2025 — Scannagallo Battle

In 2025, the Scannagallo Battle Re-enactment once again enlivened the Arezzo Valdichiana with three days of events between Pozzo della Chiana, Foiano della Chiana, and Marciano della Chiana. Historical camps, costumed processions, the assault on the castle of Marciano, and the great final battle brought the 1554 clash between the Florentine army of Cosimo I de' Medici and the Franco-Sienese forces back to life, with the participation of numerous historical groups and hundreds of re-enactors.

The 2025 edition of the Scannagallo Battle Re-enactment took place in the spring among the villages of the Valdichiana, confirming the historical format of three days dedicated to 16th-century Tuscany. Among the events were the re-enactment of the capture of the castle of Marciano della Chiana and the great final battle in Pozzo della Chiana.

Organized by the Ente Scannagallo APS - Scannagallo Cultural Association, the event saw the participation of historical groups and re-enactors from all over Italy, featuring visitable military camps, processions, weapon demonstrations, and Renaissance music and dance performances. Admission was free.
