Scala Infiorata – Feast of the Madonna di Conadomini

The 2025 edition

The 36th edition of the Scala Infiorata concluded on June 1, 2025. The floral mosaic, conceived by Giuseppe Ales, was dedicated to the eighth centenary of the arrival in Caltagirone of the painting of Maria Santissima di Conadomini (1225-2025): at the bottom, red roses stood out, in the center the inscription '1225-2025' with the number 800, while along the entire design ran an interweaving of wheat ears, an homage to the devotion towards the 'Madonna del Pane'.

To compose the work, over 2,100 floral specimens — euonymus, marigolds, geraniums, and daisies — were used in shades of green, red, yellow, and orange, on the 142 steps of the Scala di Santa Maria del Monte, in the historic center of Caltagirone (province of Catania).
