Satyrion 2025: Danilo Leone awarded
The 26th edition of the Satyrion International Archaeology Award, organized by the Pro Loco of Leporano, honored Professor Danilo Leone of the University of Foggia for his contribution to archaeological research at both national and international levels, as unanimously recognized by the scientific committee.
The program opened on the morning of September 12, 2025, at the Saturo Archaeological Park in Leporano, with a conference dedicated to the origins and myth of Satyrion, followed by a tasting of local products. In the evening, the official awards ceremony was held at the Teatro Comunale Fusco in Taranto, hosted by journalist Gianni Sebastio. On September 13, the "Leporano Express" initiative guided participants on a sunset walk through the park, exploring the excavations and trails of the Mediterranean scrub.

Friday, September 12, 2025
- 11:00 AM - Saturo Archaeological Park (Leporano): scientific conference "Satyrion, origins and myth," with contributions from scholars, followed by a food and wine tasting.
- 8:00 PM - Teatro Comunale Fusco (Taranto): official awards ceremony, hosted by Gianni Sebastio (Antenna Sud). Award recipient: Prof. Danilo Leone (University of Foggia).
Saturday, September 13, 2025
- 6:00 PM - "Leporano Express": sunset walk in the Saturo Park through excavations, workshops, and Mediterranean scrub trails.
