Saracena Swim Cup

The second edition of the Saracena Swim Cup took place in Brolo on Sunday, June 29, 2025, opening the Sicilia Openwater Grand Prix. The II Saracena Trophy over 5 kilometers saw 83 registered participants, with a start at 10:00 AM from the coast of Brolo, rounding the Torre delle Ciavole in Gliaca di Piraino, and returning to the beach. Among the women, Giorgia Di Mario won ahead of the Olympian Rachele Bruni, who finished just a few seconds behind; among the men, Gabriele Molonia was victorious. In the afternoon, the Miglio dei Lancia, in its first edition on a 1,852-meter course between the shore and the Scoglio di Brolo, counted 154 participants. The overall winners of the combined event were Giorgia Di Mario and Antonino Cafarelli. An edition that confirmed the sporting and tourism appeal of the event for the Tyrrhenian coast of Messina.
