Santissimo Crocifisso Festival

The 234th edition of the Santissimo Crocifisso Festival took place in Villafrati (Palermo) over the weekend of September 19-21, 2025. For 2025 as well, the festivities, curated by the Villafrati Fest-Art association, followed the traditional calendar: from Friday to Sunday, religious rites, pop music shows in the square, and folk events took place.

Central moments of the edition were the procession of the statue with barefoot devotees, the evocative flight of the angels, and the caparisoning of the horses with the cunnuciuta di torci, in addition to the livestock and agricultural tool fair. The festival closed with the traditional fireworks, confirming itself as the most important identity-defining event for the Villafrati community.
