Santissimo Crocifisso Festival (Patronal Feast of Sciara)

The 2025 edition of the Santissimo Crocifisso Festival took place in Sciara on the first Sunday of August, confirming the central role this anniversary plays in the life of the village in the Metropolitan City of Palermo. In 2025, the festival once again featured the transfer of the statue to the Mother Church, its display on the high altar adorned with flowers and the Tosello, dawn fireworks, and the brass band parade.

The highlight was, as always, the evening procession of the Crucifix, led by medieval drummers and confraternities, with the village streets covered in petals and illuminated by torches, punctuated by stops for fireworks. A day of strong community identity, which every year draws back many Sciara natives who have emigrated.
