Santissimo Crocifisso Festival and Furriata di li Torci

The 2025 edition of the Santissimo Crocifisso Festival in Baucina took place in July, confirming the enduring charm of one of the most deeply rooted popular festivals in the Metropolitan City of Palermo. The heart of the event was once again the Furriata di li Torci: knights and horsewomen rode through the town streets with traditional floral torches, followed by teams of caparisoned mules that threw sweets and gifts to the crowd.

The procession of the wooden Crucifix moved through the historic center accompanied by the evocative Flight of the Angels, while the local food festival and evening musical shows enlivened the village squares. The festival was organized by the SS. Crocifisso Committee together with the Pro Loco Baucina.
