Edition 2025 — Santi Sepolcri Alliste

In 2025, Alliste observed Maundy Thursday on April 17th with the traditional visit to the Santi Sepolcri. The town's churches hosted altars of repose, adorned with flowers and wheat plates, while the faithful renewed their prayer route from one sepulchre to another, following the ancient devotion of the Salento Holy Week.

The 2025 edition of the Santi Sepolcri of Alliste was held on Thursday, April 17, 2025. As per tradition, at the end of the Mass of the Lord's Supper, altars of repose were set up in the town's churches, including the parish church of San Quintino, and decorated with flowers, soft lighting, and the characteristic plates of wheat sprouted in the dark. The faithful visited the sepulchres, walking from one church to another for Eucharistic adoration on Maundy Thursday night, confirming the vitality of a rite deeply rooted in the Province of Lecce and throughout Salento.
