Chestnut Festival 2025: the 52nd edition

The 52nd edition of the Sante Marie Chestnut Festival was held on November 1st and 2nd, 2025, confirming its status as one of the most appreciated autumn events in Abruzzo. In the Chestnut Village, set up in the alleys of the historic center, the cellars were transformed into taverns to host the food and wine trail: polenta, arrosticini, pallotte cace e ova, tagliatelle with truffles, gnocchi, stew and chestnuts, homemade desserts, mulled wine, and roasted chestnuts.

The program included trekking in the Grotte di Luppa Nature Reserve, the opening of stalls for chestnut tasting, guided tours of the Brigandage Museum, book presentations, musical performances by schools, and folk group shows. Visitors were able to walk among the more than seventy murals in the village and reach the panoramic 'Big Bench'. Entry was free, with shuttles from the parking areas to the center. The event was organized by the Pro Loco Sante Marie with the Municipality and local associations.
