Santa Maria delle Grazie Festival in Maugeri 2025

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, the Maugeri hamlet of Valverde (CT) celebrated the Santa Maria delle Grazie Festival, one of the most heartfelt religious events of the Etna community. From the early hours of the morning, the wooden statue of the Virgin of Grace was unveiled and displayed on the high altar of the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, with the celebration of solemn masses attended by the faithful.

In the afternoon, the statue was placed on the float in front of the church portal, where the evening open-air mass was celebrated. Around 8:00 PM, the procession began through the streets of Maugeri: the exit of the Madonna was greeted by the festive ringing of bells, the throwing of colorful paper, and fireworks. Upon the return of the statue to the church, the traditional fireworks display was ignited, followed by the final solemn blessing that closed the day of celebration and popular devotion.
