Santa Maria Assunta Feast and Sfida dei Borghi

The 2025 edition

The Metropolitan City of Rome included the Santa Maria Assunta Feast of Monte Compatri in its 2025 events calendar, with celebrations spread from August 6 to 16. The novena opened on August 6 with afternoon holy masses in the Assunta Cathedral, continuing daily until the eve of the feast.

On August 14, the solemn evening mass was followed by the procession with the statue of the Assumption along the streets of the historic center, a moment of great community participation. On Ferragosto, alongside liturgical celebrations, the Estate Monticiana calendar featured the traditional Ferragosto concert on the Passeggiata, while in the preceding days, the town had hosted the Pappardelle Festival and the Village Feast at the Belvedere.
