Santa Lucia Fair – Pupi Fair

The 2025 Pupi Fair enlivened the Chiostro dei Teatini in Lecce from December 1st to 23rd, confirming itself as one of the most anticipated Christmas markets in Salento. Under the arches of the cloister, the master pupari displayed their creations in papier-mâché and terracotta: shepherds, Holy Families, small houses, fountains, and nativity accessories, made according to artisanal techniques passed down for centuries. Organized by the Municipality of Lecce, the fair admitted exclusively artisanal nativity-themed products, excluding industrial goods. At the end, in the same cloister, the Salento Craft Fair began, dedicated to local production.

What was at the fair

Exhibition and sale of nativity scenes and figurines (pupi) entirely handcrafted by Salento's master pupari:

• Nativity figures in papier-mâché and terracotta
• Holy Families, shepherds, and scenes of daily life
• Small houses, fountains, accessories, and settings for the nativity

Opening Hours

• Morning: 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM
• Afternoon: 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM
• Holidays and weekends: extended hours until 9:30 PM

Following the event

From December 27th, in the same Chiostro dei Teatini, the Salento Craft Fair dedicated to local artisanal production.
