Santa Jona Living Nativity in Ovindoli

The 41st edition of the Santa Jona Living Nativity in Ovindoli (AQ) was held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, starting at 6:30 PM from Piazza A. Leonardi. Numerous actors of all ages animated the Nativity scenes throughout the historic center, enriched by the Pro Loco with strings of lights that highlighted the medieval elements of the village.

In the role of the Madonna was Aurora Lacalamita, with the Baby Jesus played by a newborn from the municipality. The performance opened a rich Christmas calendar, which continued in the first days of January 2026 with a Gospel concert by the Tibur Gospel Choir in the Church of Santa Maria di Collemarciano and with the traditional Befana, who descended from the Medieval Tower to distribute sweets to children. The event was organized by the Pro Loco of Santa Jona with the patronage of the Municipality of Ovindoli.
