Santa Claus Village (Christmas in Meta)

Christmas 2025 in Meta was a nearly month-long journey, designed by the Municipality of Meta together with local associations. It kicked off on December 12 and 13 with celebrations around the Saint Lucy bonfire in the district of the same name; then, storytelling and music evenings in the Church of the Annunziata and the Church of the Angels, with students from the Grandi High School of Sorrento starring in «Metà in Canto».

On the weekend of December 20 and 21, the Villa Comunale hosted the Santa Claus Village, open morning and afternoon with games and entertainment for the little ones. On December 22, Piazza Vittorio Veneto filled up for «Aspettando il Natale a Metà» (Waiting for Christmas in Meta), featuring a Neapolitan tombola and a show; Christmas Eve was heralded by the Santa Claus Band, traveling through the city streets.

From December 25 to January 6, the Chapel of the Arciconfraternita SS. Immacolata hosted the artistic Neapolitan nativity scene, with the «Zeppolata al Presepe» on December 30 and «Waiting for the Befana» on January 5. The festivities closed with the sacred music concert by Cantatibus Organis in the Basilica, the drawing of the Christmas Lottery in Piazzetta Casale, and the inauguration of the «From Venice to Meta» exhibition at the Camillo Paturzo Cultural Center.

December 2025

• December 29, 5:00 PM — Camillo Paturzo Cultural Center: 3rd edition of the «Metà Amore Mio – Luigi Di Martino» Poetry Prize.
• December 30, 7:00 PM — Basilica of Santa Maria del Lauro: «In Canto di Natale» concert by the Santa Maria del Lauro Choir; followed at 8:00 PM by «Zeppolata al Presepe» at the SS. Immacolata Chapel.

January 2026
