Santa Barbara Festival

2025 Edition

The 2025 Santa Barbara Festival in Paternò was celebrated from November 30th to December 5th, with the octave on December 11th. The eve of December 3rd saw the exit of the cerei from San Gaetano, the tribute to the fallen in Piazza Santa Barbara, the solemn mass with the Armed Forces, and in the evening, the solemn procession of the Relics through the streets of the center.

On December 4th, the day of the solemnity, the unveiling of the venerated statue took place, followed by the solemn exit amidst the sound of bells and fireworks, the triumphant entry of the fercolo into Piazza Vittorio Veneto with a fireworks display, and late in the evening, fireworks in Piazza Santa Barbara. December 5th was dedicated to civic devotion, with the solemn pontifical mass presided over by Monsignor Luigi Renna, Metropolitan Archbishop of Catania, the long procession of the fercolo, the pyromusical show in Piazza Indipendenza, and the final entry of the fercolo with fireworks at the Norman Castle.
