Edition 2025 — Sant'Antonino Fair

The 2025 edition of the patronal feast took place on Tuesday, September 2nd, in Pico, with the customary procession of the statue of Saint Antoninus carried on shoulders through the streets of the historic center. The procession made national headlines due to a near-accident: a public lighting pole collapsed just steps away from the faithful during the procession, without causing any injuries. The community interpreted the event as a sign of the saint's protection.

Sant'Antonino 2025 in Pico

The patronal feast of Pico was celebrated on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, according to the established rite: liturgical celebrations, a fair, and a procession of the statue of Saint Antoninus the Martyr carried on shoulders along the alleys of the village in the province of Frosinone.

The edition is, however, remembered above all for an episode that gained national resonance. During the passage of the procession, a public lighting pole suddenly collapsed near the faithful. The images, captured by some attendees and broadcast by outlets such as Il Messaggero, LaPresse, and Ciociaria Oggi, showed the frightening scene, fortunately without any injuries. Many participants spoke of a "miracle of Saint Antoninus."

After the incident, the municipal administration announced a monitoring of public lighting throughout the town to check the condition of the supports and prevent further collapses. The procession, however, was completed, and the day concluded with celebrations in the square.
