Sant'Antoni te le Fòcare

The 2025 edition of Sant'Antoni te le Fòcare spanned two days. On Sunday, February 16th, after Mass at the mother church, the Culture Market hosted the meeting Mediterranean Fire Rituals - A look at Sant'Antoni te le focare, accompanied by an exhibition of local ceramic, wood, papier-mâché, and canvas works depicting the saint. In Piazza Municipio, a brazier was lit with the image of the saint, followed by the release of a hot-air balloon featuring Antonian symbols.

On Monday, February 17th, the main day, neighborhoods prepared their fifty focareddhre from the morning. At 6:00 PM, the relics—extracted from the tomb during the 1981 reconnaissance—were welcomed by the friars of the basilica, followed by Mass. At 7:00 PM, the procession moved through the center, lighting the neighborhood bonfires amidst light displays. At 9:00 PM, the grand pyrotechnic ignition of the Focara in Piazza Municipio took place, followed by a performance by Dakkamà with guests Mimmo Epifania and José.
