Edition 2025 — Cherry Festival
A year of waiting
The third Sunday of May 2025 passed without the Cherry Festival: the most beloved event in Sant'Angelo Romano, in the province of Rome, was going through a period of interruption that lasted several years. For a village that had built its identity around its cherries since 1962—the "cerase" of local varieties like the Cerasoni and the Ciarase di Cesaretto—the absence of the festival was deeply felt by the entire Monti Cornicolani community.
It was precisely during this period that the desire to revive the event matured: the Nuova Pro Loco Sant'Angelo Romano, with the patronage of the Municipality and the collaboration of schools, the parish, and associations, worked toward the return of the festival, which culminated in May 2026 with the 60th edition—three days of processions, allegorical floats, concerts, and fireworks greeted by a great public success.
