Edition 2025 — Sant'Albano Festival

The 2025 edition of the Sant'Albano Festival took place in Riva presso Chieri over the weekend of June 21-22, featuring the customary dawn procession of the dog-drawn cart to the chapel of Sant'Albano, solemn mass, the exchange of the Massari halberds, stranòt in Piedmontese, and popular festivities concluding with the ancient bal dla carità dances.

In 2025, the Sant'Albano Festival enlivened Riva presso Chieri, Piedmont, over the weekend of June 21-22, the anniversary of the patron saint.

As per secular tradition, at dawn on Sunday, the procession of the cart pulled by dogs departed from the town center toward the Romanesque chapel of Sant'Albano, accompanied by the brass band and the stranòt recited by the massè cit. On the steps of the chapel, the exchange of the halberds between the Massari was renewed, while the festival concluded with the bal dla carità, once again sealing the bond between faith, memory, and community.
