Sant'Agata in Summer 2025: towards the Centenary

The 2025 edition commemorated the 899th anniversary of the return of the relics of Sant'Agata, a preparatory year for the great Jubilee of 2026. The calendar, presented at the Archbishop's Palace, extended from August 6 to 18 with the peak on Sunday, August 17.

The day of the 17th opened at 8:00 AM with the opening of the reliquary and the translation of the relics to the high altar, followed by Eucharistic celebrations throughout the day. At 10:30 AM, the solemn celebration presided over by the Archbishop with the Cathedral Chapter took place, and in the evening, at 8:00 PM, the procession with the relics through the streets of the center, passing through Porta Uzeda, Via Dusmet, Via Porticello, and Piazza San Placido. During the festival nights, the underground service was extended until 1:00 AM to facilitate the faithful.
