The 44th edition: «The village, yesterday and today»

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, San Vito Romano hosted the 44th Painting Extempore, organized by the Pro Loco led by Paolo Gentilezza together with the Municipality represented by Mayor Maurizio Pasquali, with the support of the Lazio Region and the BCC di Bellegra. The theme of the year, «The village, yesterday and today», invited the over 35 competing artists on a journey between memory and the present through the town's views.

The jury — composed among others of art historian Valentina Nera, restorer Manuela Panci, and BCC vice-president Mario Tucci — awarded the first prize (500 euros) to Umberto Mari, the second to Maria Pia Ricciardi, and the third to Elisa Vesce; the special «Flaminia and Romolo» prize went to Antonio Mazziale, while eight fourth prizes ex aequo recognized the widespread quality of the works. About 22 children participated in the dedicated section, a now decade-long tradition of the event. The ceremony at the «Vittorio Bachelet» Villa Comunale, closed by a convivial aperitif, was even greeted by a double rainbow over the village.
