San Valentino Palio

The 33rd edition of the San Valentino Palio, which took place on Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II in Bientina, provided a memorable finale. The Il Cilecchio district won the cencio thanks to jockey Silvano Mulas, riding King Rio, beating Adrian Topalli of Il Puntone and Francesco Caria of Quattro Strade in the final.

It was a success with a historic flavor: with the 2024-2025 double, Il Cilecchio became the first district of Bientina to achieve two consecutive victories, reaching five total Palio wins and joining Il Puntone at the top of the golden book. The day, as per tradition, had opened in the morning with the "mossaccia" and trials, before the decisive afternoon race, at the end of a week of celebrations among the town's nine districts, in the province of Pisa.
