San Severo Holy Week

The 2025 edition of the San Severo Holy Week confirmed the vitality of a centuries-old tradition. On Good Friday, April 18, while it was still dark, the procession of Jesus Scourged set out from the Church of the Most Holy Trinity accompanied by the "Banda Rossa" conducted by M° Francesco Buono, while the Sodality of Prayer and Death and the solemn procession of the Blessed Virgin of Sorrows moved from the Church of S. Maria della Pietà, with the "Città di San Severo" Wind Orchestra conducted by M° Antonello Ciccone.

At 6:00 AM, in Piazza Castello, the moving Meeting between the statues was renewed, a spiritually intense gesture that for over a century has united believers and visitors in the uncertain light of dawn. In the evening, the procession of the Dead Christ and the Virgin of Sorrows traversed the city streets as a natural continuation in prayer of the morning rite.
