Edition 2025 — San Sebastiano Mistretta (January)

On January 20, 2025, Mistretta celebrated its patron saint, San Sebastiano, with the traditional winter votive festival. As per custom, the day featured morning blank shots, Holy Mass, and the tour of the saint's portrait with the brass band, while the afternoon saw the solemn procession of the statue on the 1610 'vara' through the historic center, concluding with fireworks.

The 2025 edition of the San Sebastiano Festival took place as scheduled on January 20th in Mistretta, in the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina. The local community renewed its devotion to the patron saint with the usual ritual: in the morning, blank shots, Holy Mass, and the tour of the saint's portrait accompanied by the brass band; in the afternoon, the solemn procession of the 'varetta degli Angeli', with relics and votive candles, and the statue of San Sebastiano carried on the ancient wooden and gold vara. The festival concluded with Holy Mass and a fireworks display, confirming the strong bond between the village and its protector saint.
